Improving your reading

Some of you asked me for links to practise your reading. I particularly like: Breaking News and Words in the news from the BBC Learning English Site. They have different activities: comprehension, vocabulary... You have audio files, etc. Explore these two links because they are worth it.

Isabel Peréz's site is also interesting and texts are easier. Moreover, 5 Minute English has a reading section too. Texts are short and sometimes you can find grammar exercises as well.

Finally, if you want to learn about a topic while you are reading, you should try Epic True StoriesBBC Science and BBC History.

Oh! I almost forgot it! Visit our bilingual blog! You can find interesting information related to our school.

How to practise speaking in English in Málaga

In our last excursion, you ask me how to practise speaking in English in Málaga. As promised, I'll give you some useful resources so that you can choose the most suitable for you:

  • Pachange: They usually meet twice a week in the evening, you have to pay 1€ and you are paired to someone of your age.
  • Intercambio Málaga: Check their events in their Facebook Group.
  • Couch Surfing: Although the webpage was not originally created to plan exchanges, but to contact travellers, once you have your profile you can decide if you want to host travellers or meet them for a drink in your town, show them around, etc.
  • La Invisible: A language exchange is organised every Wednesday at 20:00 (C/ Nosquera, 11 y 9).
  • La Casa del Libro organises a language exchange once a month. They call it “tándem de idiomas”. Next one is on Thursday 28th at 7 pm. You can check the activities that take place in the bookshop in a poster on the door in its store in Calle Nueva, 5.
  • SVE – Iniciativa Internacional Joven: check the webpage or contact the organization. They have language exchanges in their office in El Cónsul.
  • Escuela de Idiomas: The official language school is also an option. There are lots of students learning Spanish, so go and have a look and its notice board. If there isn't any notice that suits you, you can leave yours.
  • Spanish Schools: Most of them are located in El Palo. Contact them because I'm sure that their students need Spanish speakers to practise their speaking too.

There's no excuse now to practise your English :)

Webpage about verb tenses

As we are revising English verb tenses, I think that this webpage will be useful to you:

http://www.englishtenses.com/

It has explanations with cartoons and some exercises to practise. Do you know other webs to revise English verb tenses? If so, share them with your classmates.
